Gold is an upcoming 2018 Indian sports movie directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner. The movie is based on the life of Hockey player Balbir Singh, who was one of the member of the team that won the first Olympic medal for India as a free nation in 1948. The movie stars actor Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy in lead roles and Kunal Kapoor and Nikita Dutta in supporting roles.

The Arjuna Award winner and former Indian national hockey team captain, Sandeep Singh, was signed to train the actors to improve their hockey skills.
The film is expected to be released on 15 August 2018.
Director Reema Kagti said, "It’s a fictional take on what happened. Also, it is not just the golden victory in 1948 we will be looking at, but it will encompass 12 crucial years in India’s history."
Principal photography for the film began on 1 July 2017.
On 10 December 2017, Akshay Kumar announced that filming was complete.The teaser for the film was launched on 5 February 2018.
Major shooting was done in Yorkshire and The Midlands, England.
Music
Sachin-Jigar will compose songs and background music for the film.
Additional songs will be composed by Arko Pravo Mukherjee and Tanishk Bagchi.Lyrics will be written by Javed Akhtar.
The movie also samples songs such as the Colonel Bogey March and Indias National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana.
