Deadpool 2 has released a new trailer that introduces fans to Josh Brolin’s Cable

Deadpool 2 is officially called the Untitled Deadpool Sequel by 20th Century Fox

The irreverent humour of Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool saw the film break numerous records including highest-grossing R-Rated comedy and highest-grossing X-Men film.

And it looks like the Deadpool sequel, still officially referred to as the Untitled Deadpool Sequel, is taking it up a notch with a series of hilarious posters, Bob Ross teasers and trailers.

Here is all you need to know about Deadpool 2, including its plot, trailers, cast and release date.

What is Deadpool 2’s release date?

Deadpool 2 is set to be released in theatres on May 18, 2018 in the US and June 1 in the UK.

The first Deadpool 2 teaser was a hilariously odd homage to the 1980s TV artist, Bob Ross. 

In the teaser, Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool impersonates Bob Ross, painting various scenes of nature before the teaser abruptly shows action-packed sequences from the film.

The brand new Deadpool 2 trailer, entitled Meet Cable, gives fans an extended look at Cable in action. 

However, the trailer is ‘paused’ mid-frame by Deadpool, who notices that Cable, played by Josh Brolin, hasn’t had his metal arm CGI’d.

Deadpool's offbeat humour also fares well in the film’s promotional posters. Over Thanksgiving, Ryan Reynolds posted a festive Deadpool poster on his Twitter.

Ryan Reynolds returns as the eponymous protagonist, Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool.

Also returning are Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Wilson’s fiancee; TJ Miller as Wilson’s best friend, Weasel; Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Wilson’s blind roommate.

Brianna Hildebrand and Stefan Kapičić return as the X-Men superheroes Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Hildebrand said of her character’s development in the sequel: ‘I think it’s cool that she’s grown and matured and she still has so much of this essence of a punk kid.’

Zazie Beets joins the cast as Neena Thurman/ Domino, a mercenary who has the power to change probability i.e. luck.

Josh Brolin joins the cast as Nathan Summers/Cable, a mutant soldier from the future. 

Brolin, as well as playing Thanos in the Avengers sequel, has signed on for a four-film deal to play Cable.

The actor says Cable’s appearance in Deadpool 2 is ‘his introduction’ and ‘absolutely not the end’, referring to the X-Force film currently in-development.

In keeping with the flippant approach to formalities such as trailers or names, the official Deadpool 2 plot from 20th Century Fox doesn’t give away much, if anything.
